The Foundation of a Successful Collection

A well-made sample becomes the blueprint for everything that follows. It lets you see, touch, and evaluate your design before committing to a full production run. Fit, construction, fabric, finishing: all of it gets refined at this stage so there are no surprises later.

As experienced clothing sample manufacturers, we approach sampling intentionally and collaboratively. We work closely with every brand, whether you're building on an existing collection or developing something entirely new.

Our garment development services cover the full journey from initial concept to a production-ready sample, including pattern making for kids of all ages, from newborns through to age 16.

How the Sampling Process Works

Our typical sampling timeline is 4 to 5 weeks. For larger collections with many styles, it can run to 6 to 8 weeks.
Here's what happens at each stage:

Design and pattern development

We take your concept (sketch, reference image, tech pack, or even just a description) and develop it into a working pattern. If you don't have a tech pack, we create one for you.

1

Fabric and trim confirmation

We source or confirm the fabrics and trims for your sample. We share swatches and options with you for approval before we cut anything.

2

Construction and assembly

Our sampling tailors construct the garment, working through the construction details, seaming, finishing, and any embroidery or smocking.

3

Photo approvals

At key stages, we share photo updates so you can see your garment coming together and flag any changes. No surprises at the end.

4

Label samples

We can also produce sample labels (woven labels, hang tags, wash care labels) alongside your garment samples so you can see the full branded product.

5

Final review

The completed sample is photographed and shared with you for final approval before we ship it.

6

We ship the sample to you once you give us the go-ahead on the final photos. You get to hold it, check the fit, feel the fabric, and assess the quality before any production commitment. You also get the chance to make any changes you need before we go into final production.

What We Need From You

You don't need fully technical drawings or a complete tech pack to get started. Many of our clients come to us at different stages of readiness. Here's what helps us get going:

  • A concept, rough sketch, or reference photos. If you don't have a sketch, a photo of a similar garment or a mood board works too.

  • Fabric and trim preferences or inspiration. If you're not sure, we can suggest options based on your design.

  • Any embroidery or smocking ideas, if relevant to your design.

  • The sizes you need the samples in.

That's it. Our job is to interpret what you share and translate it into an apparel prototype that's ready for production.

From Samples to Production

Sampling is a paid service, and we provide a clear quote before any work begins so you know the cost upfront. Payments can be made conveniently via PayPal, and sample charges are billed separately from production costs. We’ll always walk you through the full pricing breakdown so there are no surprises.

Once you’re happy with your samples, moving into production becomes smooth and straightforward. Because the fit, fabrics, construction details, and labels have already been refined during sampling, bulk production runs faster, more consistently, and with fewer revisions. All samples are created using CPSIA & REACH compliant materials from the start, so there’s no compliance rework needed when moving into bulk production. Whether you’re planning a small batch (Low-MOQ) or a larger private label production run, the sampling stage creates the foundation for a successful production process.
